I was born in LaGrange, Georgia, and grew up in several small towns, but mainly in Savannah, Georgia where I lived ten years, finishing high school at R.W. Groves High School in Garden City. While at Groves I played baseball and was an officer in the Army R.O.T.C. In the summer after graduating I umpired Little League baseball. That was my first paying job.
I worked in a plywood mill off Bay Street in Savannah for one year, and then joined the Georgia Army National Guard, serving six months on active duty.
My wife Shirley and I were married in Savannah, and moved to Marietta, Georgia, where I worked two years for a lumber company. I then became a United Methodist pastor, and graduated from LaGrange College and Emory University.
Shirley and I have three grown children and eight grandchildren. We enjoy reading, movies, and travel. Shirley collects china dolls, records, tapes, and cdís. I have a collection of coffee mugs, Bibles, and books.
We now live in Marietta, Georgia and Lynn Haven, Florida.
I have done some other writing, including a column for a
newspaper, The Jackson Herald. I was also a contributor to the journal, Emphasis. I have six inspirational books you may purchase from www.csspub.com. All of these are still in print. They are: The Master Has Come, The Roads Jesus Traveled, Behold The Man, The Man From Galilee, They Came Together In Bethlehem, and The Light Of Bethlehem Shines On. You will find these listed by Thomas A. Pilgrim, except The Man From Galilee is listed by Tom Pilgrim.
